ENERGY SAVING KIT
When your school joins the Smart Energy Academy, eligible students in Year 6 will receive a free take-home Energy Saving Kit.
The kit includes easy-to-use devices that will help your family reduce energy use, conserve resources, protect the environment, and save money on your energy bills, all while contributing to the Smart Energy Academy Challenge of saving 2 million kWh of energy across Queensland.

Step 1: Install the Devices
Read the Family Guide included with your kit and follow the Installation Instructions below to start saving energy, conserving resources, protecting the environment, and reducing your energy bills.

Step 2: Complete the Home Energy Survey
Once you've used your kit, complete the Home Energy Survey with your family to help track progress toward our goal of saving 2 million kWh of energy. Return the survey to your classroom teacher and contribute to the Smart Energy Academy Challenge.
Step 3: Earn Rewards
By completing and returning the survey, you’re helping us achieve our goal of saving 2 million kWh of energy. Your family and school can also earn cash rewards! Visit the Rewards Page to learn more about how you can win prizes while making a positive impact.​​​​​​​

LED Light Bulbs
These specialty globes have given you a head start in upgrading your
home with the latest energy-efficient lighting technology.

Each kit contains two 10-watt Edison Screw LED globe, providing up to
1,150 lumens of light, and two 8-watt Bayonet LED globes, offering up
to 910 lumens. Both types emit a warm white light at 3000K.

These globes are cost-effective replacements for traditional incandescent globes, helping you reduce your lighting costs by more than 80%. Plus, they last 5 to 10 times longer than older light globes, making them a smart choice for a more sustainable home.​
Tap Aerators
Go with the flow and flip on the savings with these tap aerators!
Each kit contains one light green aerator, providing a flow rate of 4 litres per minute for bathroom taps, and one light blue aerator, offering 6 litres per minute for kitchen sinks and laundry basins.
These easy-to-install inserts fit any standard ‘M22’ or ‘M24’ tap housing and reduce water usage by up to 70% without compromising water pressure. Each aerator comes with a replacement washer. Save water, energy, and money by upgrading your taps today!
4-Minute Shower Timer
Set to precisely four minutes, this simple yet effective shower timer encourages mindful use of water and energy, reducing the electricity or gas needed for heating.
Just flip the timer over at the start of your shower and aim to finish before the sand runs out. It’s an easy way to conserve both water and energy, helping to lower your energy bills.
